Larsson wraps up second title with perfect weekend in Vegas

Robin Larsson retained the Group E series championship after dominating the season finale at Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas.

The DRR JC RX Cartel driver won every race he started on Saturday, wrapping up the title during qualifying after Fraser McConnell failed to make the Top Qualifier race. That meant Larsson merely needed to start that contest, but he went ahead and won it anyway.

In the final, Larsson resisted early pressure from2018 champion Timmy Hansen to take his fourth win of the season – a Group E record – with Hansen eventually finishing second, 1.444s back. Guillaume de Ridder took third to round out his debut Nitrocross weekend with a maiden podium finish.

Nitrocross NEXT champion Casper Jansson won his eighth consecutive final, extending his all-time record in what was the last NEXT race before NEXT EVO and the FC2 platform arrives next season.

Branden Sorensen took a popular hometown win in Side-by-Sides ahead of Banks Hovey, Gray Leadbetter, Amanda Sorensen, and three-time NASCAR Truck series champion Matt Crafton. While he retired from the SxS open final, category champion Kainan Baker ended his weekend positively by winning the PRO invitational class final.

Blakey Wilkey was the victor in the last Baja Bugs race of the season, beating Donald 'Cowboy' Cerrone and Jim York.
