SCOTT SPEED #41
TEAM: Subaru Motorsports
DATE OF BIRTH: January 24, 1983
HOMETOWN: Mooresville, North Carolina
VEHICLE: Subaru WRX STI
Scott Speed is one the most successful drivers in the history of US rallycross, with many championships and wins to his name. After fracturing his vertebrae on a hard jump landing at Nitro RX in 2019 and an enforced COVID break to add to the delay in returning to competition, Speed himself admitted he was nervous to see if he still ‘had it.’ He proved in emphatic style that he did by winning qualifying outright at 2021 Utah, the very circuit where he was injured two years previously. He came 2nd in qualifying at 2021 ERX making him the only driver to have made the ‘final battle’ at both rounds and backed this up with his first ever Nitro RX win at ERX the following day.
Scott is a 4-time Rallycross champion (GRC 2015-17, ARX 2018) and 3-time X Games Rallycross gold medalist (2013-15). Scott started his career in Karts and Formula cars and, in 2006, became the first American driver to race F1 since Michael Andretti. He then moved on to race NASCAR in 2008.
Scott placed 6th in his 2018 Nitro RX campaign.
