Gray Leadbetter’s journey into racing began unexpectedly, with a passion for speed sparked at age two. Starting on a small four-wheeler, she advanced to a Yamaha PW50 at age three and was competing in arenacross by five. Karting honed her competitive edge, and soon, Gray was driving SXS, legend cars, and mini-outlaw sprints.
After training with Patrik Sandell and Indy 500 champion Buddy Rice, she joined Dreyer & Reinbold Racing in 2019 for Americas Rallycross at 14.
In 2021, Gray became the first woman to win a Pro class race in Championship Off-Road with Greaves Motorsports, finishing third in the standings. In 2022, she claimed the Pro Spec class championship driving for Ryan Beat Motorsports, marking the first time a woman won a Pro class championship. Her success earned her an Impact Award from the Off-Road Motorsports Hall of Fame.
In 2023, Gray continued her winning streak in Pro Spec and earned multiple podiums in Nitrocross. She tested the Group E car with Travis Pastrana at Mid-America Outdoors and kicked off 2024 racing for Legacy Motor Club in Extreme E. With a promising start, 2024 looks to be a pivotal year for her racing career.
